The Hospital and ED: We practice
state-of-the-art emergency medicine in an excellent and expanding
280-bed community hospital in Chesapeake, Virginia. 60,000 visits
this year: relatively high complexity patients with minimal to no
major trauma. There are regional trauma and pediatric centers. There
is a Hospitalist service, an attached 17-bed ED observation unit,
and a recently renovated 28-bed ED with fast track. We operate a
chest pain center with availability of 24-hour cardiac catheterization
and angioplasty. There is real-time transcription. Computerized
medical records. Full and excellent backup with in-house hospitalists,
anesthesia and pediatrics. Outstanding nursing staff and support
personnel. ED ultrasound.
The Area: We are
next to Virginia Beach in the southeastern corner of Virginia. Chesapeake
is a rapidly growing area and Virginia's third largest city. Great
climate. Rapidly growing economy. Family oriented. Good schools.
Reasonable cost of living and affordable housing. Unlimited educational
and recreational opportunities.
The Group:
A single-hospital, fully democratic group, we have been providing
care at this hospital since it opened in 1976. Our relationship
with the hospital is long and deep, with multiple layers of integration.
All of us are committed, involved and BCEM. Excellent remuneration
and benefits. Partnership. We are fifteen full-time physicians and
eight PA's. We provide 54 hours of physician coverage and 40 hours
of PA coverage daily. We have our own (successful) billing service.
The candidate: Excellent medical care will be a
given. We are looking for someone who wants to be a long-term participant
in the continued growth of emergency medicine in our community.
He or she must work efficiently and well with others and be able
to form trusting relationships with our patients, our support staff
and the hospital's medical staff. |

Part-Time NP with EM experience to work in Virginia.
Part-time position for an EXPERIENCED EM Nurse Practitioner. Part
of the Inova Health System, Mount Vernon Hospital is a 232-bed
full service community hospital serving the southeastern part of
Fairfax County. Their 22 bed Emergency Department sees 28,000 patients
annually and is staffed by a stable team of Emergency Physicians
and Nurses. The hospital has been recognized as one of the top
100 orthopedic hospitals in the nation, specializing in joint replacement
rehab. Inova Mount Vernon also provides a wide range of surgical,
medical and critical care services including cancer, emergency,
psychiatric, cardiac rehab, breast health, hyperbaric oxygen and
dialysis care, and has a total of 75,000 hospital admissions per
year. Alexandria is a suburb of Washington, D.C., located just
outside the District of Columbia, about 6 miles southwest of the
White House. It’s a city rich in history that still retains
the character and charm of an earlier time. With its close proximity
to the Nation's Capital, it offers a multitude of cultural and
educational activities. Popular weekend destinations include Maryland's
Eastern Shore and the beautiful Shenandoah National Park and Skyline
Drive. |
