Shore University Medical Center is a member of University Health
System, a consortium of major teaching hospitals in the state of
New Jersey and, as a major affiliate of the UMDNJ (Robert Wood
Johnson Medical school), designated as a major “core” teaching
hospital. This 502-bed acute care hospital is a Level II Trauma
Center and Pediatric Trauma Center, which sees 66,000 patients
annually. There are 76hrs/day of physician coverage (18 hours in
Prompt Care) plus 12 hrs/day of Pediatric emergency medicine coverage & 8
hrs/day of Nurse Practitioner coverage. JSUMC is currently undergoing
a $300 million expansion and renovation project, which will include
a new state-of-the-art ED and trauma center. The new 213,000 square
feet ED will open in August 2009 and will be able to accommodate
100,000 annual visits, with dedicated space for pediatrics and
imaging. We offer an attractive hourly rate, an incentive based
