Medical Director wanted for ER Department in Bangor,
Maine!
Position
St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor, Maine has an excellent opportunity
for a physician seeking a leadership position as Medical Director.
We are looking for a well organized, articulate and motivational
leader to assume this very important role. You will oversee an emergency
department with an annual volume of 24,000, staffed by physicians
working 12-hour shifts and supported by an experienced team of physician
assistants. The Director will work some clinical shifts which will
be carefully balanced against administrative responsibilities. This
is an exciting time to assume this position as there is the opportunity
to re-design Emergency Services at the Hospital. A competitive compensation
package will be offered.
The 15-bed Level II trauma Emergency Department is open 24 hours
a day, seven days a week. It includes seven cardiac care rooms
including three critical care rooms; a decontamination room; and
rooms for treatment of emergency cases in: Obstetrics/Gynecology;
Orthopedics; and Ophthalmology. There are also several suture
rooms and a digital x-ray unit. The Emergency Department is staffed
around the clock by physicians, physician assistants, Registered
Nurses, CNAs and a secretary. Emergency room greeters are also
available from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Greeters help patients
with registration, and provide comfort to them during their visit.
